JAMES L. MOORE, MD, FACS

Dr. James Moore brings decades worth of tremendous skill and experience to every patient that walks through his doors...

He's a physician you've grown to know and trust during his many years of practice in northeast Georgia. His technique is impecable. His commitment to state-of-the-art technology is second to none.  However, Dr. Moore is not just a highly respected member of the medical community.  He is also a dedicated father, loving husband, and a man who brings the same passion he has for medicine to every facet of his life.

A native of West Hartford, Connecticut, Dr. Moore completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University and graduated Magna Cum Laude.  He fell in love with Duke during his time there and served as the Chariman of the Duke Alumni Admissions Committee of Northeast Georgia for 10 years.  After Duke, he went on to New York University where he received his MD.  Dr. Moore then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he completed his intership at Grady Memorial Hospital and his residencies in general and plastic surgery at Emory University affiliated hospitals.  He is board certified in both general and plastic surgery.

Dr. Moore and his wife Susan, a registered nurse at Athens Regional Medical Center, are the parents of three daughters, Katie, Gwen, and Libby.  The girls share many of their father's varied passions.  Dr. Moore loves to travel and participate in Triathlons, having competed in over 20.  He enjoys running, biking, swimming, and skiing.  Dr. Moore is also an active philanthropist.  Some of the organizations he's worked with include the UGA Catholic Center, Project Safe, Athens Regional Foundation, and St. Mary's Foundation.
